Invitation to Explore a Draft Action Plan for Building Social Justice in SWPA

The purpose of this meeting will be to briefly review the origins and discussion at the Convergence of the Draft Action Plan for Building Social Justice in Southwestern Pennsylvania, share information about the state and direction of the Occupy Pittsburgh (and worldwide) movement and other economic and social justice and anti-war campaigns that are ongoing in the region, and to see how this “Plan” can add value to building a vibrant, sustainable social justice movement over the long haul in the region.

10 – 11 am Small Group Discussions on Social Justice Movement in Region, Occupy, and the role of Action Plan
(1) What Opportunities and Challenges face the Social Justice Movement in the short and longer term (5 years plus)
(2) Identify core organizing campaigns and capacity building needs of Social Justice Movement in next 1-5 years
(3) How can the Action Plan contribute to, support, strengthen the Social Justice Movement in the region over the long run
